Residents from North End Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center recently took part in a unique intergenerational hockey experience with the boys team from Boston Latin Academy. The event, organized for National Skating Month, brought residents to Devine Memorial Rink where students helped stabilize wheelchairs while residents practiced stickhandling and took shots on goal. Staff said the outing helped residents reconnect with the community and experience the sights and sounds of the ice rink firsthand. The hour-long scrimmage generated excitement throughout the community and may lead to future visits and continued collaboration with the student athletes.
